Giovanna Faifer arrived in Grosseto in September 2024 to work with WAV-e on the development of the future Museum of the Buttero and Popular Traditions — a project that brings together culture, community, and the local territory. She studied Peace Sciences in Pisa and International Relations in Bologna, and has lived and worked across Europe. In November, she began a PhD in Peace Studies at La Sapienza University in Rome.

During the aperitif, she would like to talk about how international sanctions often have very complex effects, especially on access to energy resources in more vulnerable countries. She will share some insights from her research on how these measures can impact people’s daily lives, and why it’s important to think of new ways to address these challenges.

Durante l’aperitivo vorrebbe parlare di come le sanzioni internazionali abbiano effetti spesso molto complicati, soprattutto sull’accesso a risorse energetiche nei paesi più fragili. Racconterà qualche spunto dalla sua ricerca, su come queste misure possono influenzare la vita quotidiana delle persone, e perché è importante pensare a modi nuovi per affrontare queste sfide.
